The European Team takes the 14th Cup!

After a defeat to the North American Team last year, the European Team managed to take back the trophy at the 14th Cup played on Friday, 7 October at Atsugi Kokusai C.C. in Kanagawa Prefecture. The Europeans, lead by team captain Hiroaki Nagahara, scored 75.90 versus North American's 76.98, counted on the average of the 80% best net. The North American team still hold the edge in the history of the competition with nine wins to Europe's five.

Played in beautiful, sunny autumn weather, the event attracted a record 151 players, 76 for the Europeans, 75 for the North-Americans, which meant we had to use three extra groups from the planned two groups per hole in the shotgun start, which presented a logistical challenge, but the pace of play was generally smooth and the game finished on schedule.

Dean Rogers (NA) was again the best golfer, winning both the best gross 72 and best net 69.6 (handicap 2.4). The best female golfer was Yumiko Akasaka(NA) with gross 83 and net 73.5.

    PARTICIPANTS SURVEY

To be able to further develop this event we asked the opinions and comments of the participants in a post-event survey. The results are now available here!

Among those who submitted the survey we drew two winners. Satoshi Hayashi (NA) and Takeo Nishitani (NA) won a round of golf for four persons on a weekday at Atsugi Kokusai G.C. and four winners, Andre Noppe (EU), Joe Peters (NA), Mathias Leroy (EU) and Thomas Zaleski (NA) got Premium Family Memberships to HealthyTokyo.com.

The event's After-Party was held on Wednesday, 12 October at Mercedes-Benz Connection in Nogizaka (opposite Tokyo Midtown). The party was attended by more than 110 players and their significant others, sponsors and representatives for the title-sponsors, Mercedes-Benz and Cole Haan.

The participants enjoyed an evening with great comradery between the two teams, excellent food and unlimited drinks and a lot of networking.
